Students toss aside their backpacks during Anything but a Backpack Day
Junior John Minutoli uses a coat hanger to carry his school supplies for Wednesday’s Anything but a Backpack Day.
On the third day of Homecoming Spirit Week, AWHS students showed up to school with a unique variety of backpack alternatives for Anything but a Backpack Day. While some chose tote bags, others were more creative, using cereal containers, guitar cases and microwaves.
Sophomore Paloma Russ used a red wagon to carry her school supplies to show her support for the spirit day.
“[Spirit days are] super fun, [they] really just encourage school spirit,” Paloma said.
Students enjoyed seeing the creative containers that their peers carried from class to class.
