Just because summer is coming to a close doesn’t mean concert fun has to as well. Crisp fall evenings spent with friends, listening to your favorite artists, is a perfect way to take a break from school and everyday life. Here is a list of some upcoming fall concerts coming to a venue near you.
- Sound Summit: Sept. 13
Summer’s over, and with that comes the end of festival season, but lucky for you, if you’re not quite ready to retire those cowboy boots, there’s still one more festival just around the corner. Nestled within Mount Tamalpais at the Mountain Theater, this music festival is a great opportunity to get to know some of Marin’s local music artists. This year’s lineup includes Cake, Alvvays, Stand, Real Estate, and Wolf Jett. Held in a beautiful outdoor amphitheater under the redwoods, Sound Summit makes for a fantastic festival that should definitely be at the summit of your fall bucket list.

- Mac DeMarco: Sept. 19 to 20
McBriare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco, more commonly known as Mac DeMarco, is a Canadian indie rock artist famous for his hits like “Chamber of Reflection,” “My Kind of Woman,” and “Heart to Heart.” As you drive along windy roads dotted with trees bearing red, yellow, and orange leaves, DeMarco makes for the perfect accompaniment.. But what’s better than listening to an artist on the radio? Seeing them live. DeMarco will be performing in the Bay Area Sept. 19 and 20 at the University of California (UC) Berkeley Greek Theater, with the performance starting at 7 p.m. The Greek Theater makes for a delightful venue under the stars, but you’ll want to get there early to get a good seat.
- Djo: Oct. 18
Joe Keery is best known for his role as Steve Harrington in the award-winning series Stranger Things. Recently, however, Keery has embraced his passion for singing and songwriting, going by the stage name Djo. Some of Djo’s hits include “End of Beginning,” “Chateau,” and “Roddy.” If you’re a Djo fan, then consider yourself lucky, as he will be performing Oct. 18 at the UC Berkeley Greek Theater, starting at 7 p.m. Djo is known for his engaging and passionate performances, offering an experience right for everyone, with the mood varying between energetic and bubbly to peaceful and calm.
- Lorde: Oct. 19
Lorde initially rose to fame in 2013 with the release of her hit song “Royals,” and from that point on, she has never gone out of style. Following her initial hit, Lorde continued releasing music, including “Ribs” and “Team.” Lorde fans have been anxiously awaiting her return to the Bay Area following her Solar Power Tour in 2023. This concert will be one of her many stops during her 2025-2026 Ultrasound World Tour. During her concerts, Lorde is known for her connection to the audience, as well as the energetic and euphoric atmosphere she creates, including dazzling light shows and theatrical elements. Lorde’s concert won’t be one you’ll soon forget. Lorde will be performing Oct. 19 at the UC Berkeley Greek Theater starting at 6 p.m.

- Sombr: Oct. 27
Shane Michael Boose, otherwise known as Sombr, has skyrocketed to fame in the music industry, known for his outstanding height and indie pop and rock hits. Many of his hits have gone viral on social media, such as “back to friends,” “undressed,” and “caroline.” During his sets, Sombr is known for his interactions with the crowd, sometimes even going down into the audience to sing and dance with his fans. Fans in the Bay Area will have the opportunity to see Sombr live in concert Oct. 27 at the Rickshaw Stop at 8 p.m. If you’re looking for an amusing and engaging concert, look no further: this is the one for you.
