On Friday, Jan. 31, Archie Williams Associated Student Body (ASB) hosted a school-wide rally in the Carl “Red” Brown gymnasium. The rally began at 10:25 a.m., 10 minutes into what would have been fourth period, and ended at 11:10 a.m. Senior ASB members Avery Hinkelman and Logan Burke introduced the event, followed by performances from the Archie Williams Dance Troupe, the varsity boys basketball team, and both the varsity boys and girls soccer teams.
After the performances, ASB invited 16 audience members from the crowd for a game of “Dress the Snowman.” Participants were equally divided into four teams, and competed against each other to dress one of their teammates up as a snowman using materials provided by ASB. Following the competition, Archie Williams Peer Resource members tested varsity basketball players’ ability to shoot while wearing vision impairment goggles, spreading awareness about alcohol use and abuse. The rally concluded with an appearance by senior class president Jasper Cohen, who led cheers from each grade with the “Spirit Can.”
