Hiking the Dipsea trail is a fantastic way to spend Mother’s Day. This hike starts in Mill Valley and reaches seven miles of hills, forests, and incredible views across the coast of California, ending at Stinson Beach. Prepare for a lot of ups and downs, but the trail will give you great exercise, and amazing sights.

If your mom is in the mood to see some beautiful waterfalls, we recommend Kent Lake via Candalero Canyon Trail Loop. This hidden gem located deep into Fairfax, past Bon Tempe Lake, is a definite must-see. As you walk up the hills there is a massive waterfall visible for the majority of the hike. Additionally, if one doesn’t want to do the whole 6.5-mile loop, it is very easy to turn around at any point of the trail.

Mother’s Day is a very special day to celebrate a very special figure in the lives of many people across the world. The perfect way to complement this holiday is by celebrating Mother Earth herself and venturing out into the wilderness.
