On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the Archie Williams boys and girls cross country teams raced against the Novato High School Hornets and the San Marin High School Mustangs. The meet took place at the College of Marin Indian Valley Campus in Novato. The Falcons cross country teams have looked strong thus far this season, with success in the Stinson Beach relays and at the Lowell Invitational in San Francisco. Due to the heat, officials pushed back the races by two hours, so the boys’ race started at 5:30 p.m. and the girls’ race started at 6 p.m.
The boys’ race was first, and they achieved successful results, winning the race overall. Archie Williams, junior Chandler Mar, and sophomore Will Fisk helped the Falcons come out on top, as they placed third and fourth overall. In the girls’ race, the Falcons managed similarly satisfactory results. Archie Williams seniors Brooke Lee, Ani Steig, Alyssa Silverstein, and Claire Palmer all placed in the top four of the race. The Falcons will run again in the De La Salle invitational in Concord Saturday, Sept. 20.
