Disney Spirit Week Day One: Sleeping Beauty

Three Archie Williams students wear matching PJs on the first day of Spirit Week.

On Monday, Feb. 5, ASB kicked off its annual Winter Formal Spirit Week, preceding the Winter Formal Dance. The dance’s theme this year, “Disney Movies,” inspired each day’s dress-up opportunity. Monday’s “Sleeping Beauty” concept kicked off the Disney activities with a cozy pajama day.

ASB tasked students with wearing their favorite sleepwear attire to school. Students were  strolling to class wearing comfortable robes, plaid PJs, and slippers around the Archie Williams campus.

Archie Williams freshman Trey Tobin enjoyed seeing the amount of student participation in the pajama-themed spirit day.

“I have been seeing a lot of people participating in [Pajama Day] around campus. They’re having a lot of fun. I can tell that a lot of people are fitting the vibe and participating, which brings morale and school spirit,” Trey said.

Sophomore Leo Spampanato believes school Spirit Weeks are beneficial for student connection, and was excited to see many dressing up on Monday.

“I think Spirit Week is a really good build-up to Winter Formal because it brings the school closer together and just gets everybody excited,” Leo said.

Sleeping Beauty Day fostered school spirit around campus and throughout the Archie Williams student body with its cozy fun. Students and teachers alike await the next themed day, Tuesday’s “Tweedle Twin Day.”
