‘Tis the season for holiday cookies. Crumbl Cookies, a Utah cookie shop turned national franchise offers a menu which rotates weekly. The week of 11/28 embraced winter with its festive flavors.

Gingerbread Cake: With a spiced dough and cream cheese frosting, the Gingerbread Cake cookie replicates the comfort of the holiday season. Though the cookie doesn’t have as strong of a gingerbread flavor as a homemade version would, it has a delicious texture, and the frosting flawlessly complements it. The Gingerbread Cake cookie earns itself nine out of ten feathers as the perfect holiday treat.

Lemon Crinkle: Crispy on the outside and moist in the middle, this cookie has a strong lemon flavor slightly muted by a doughy taste. Granulated sugar throughout the cookie adds a satisfying crunch to every bite. Served warm, this classic flavor has a satisfying texture. However, the flour undertones undermine the lemon flavor, granting this cookie seven out of ten feathers.

Green Mint ft. Andes®️: Out of all the cookies of the week, this one was the most eye-catching. With green frosting atop its chocolate dough, the cookie itself had a rich flavor and crumbly texture. However, the toothpaste-esque frosting degrades the actual cookie, leading to a disappointing six out of ten feathers.

Boston Cream Pie: Basically a mini pie, this cookie set high expectations for Boston Cream lovers. The cookie “crust” is mediocre at best, and is flavorless, thick and dry. The smooth vanilla pastry cream straight from a Boston cream doughnut and a rich chocolate ganache on top save the cookie. On their own, the cream and chocolate are easily a ten out of ten, but with the cookie base, they stoop to six out of ten feathers.
