Top local outdoor adventures for Mother’s Day

Crissy Field
If your family isn’t keen on steep hikes, Crissy Field is the perfect option. Located right by the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field’s path features breathtaking views of the bridge and the bay itself. An added plus is the delicious Warming Hut Park Store where you can buy Mom a cup of coffee or a delicious snack.
Mount Diablo
Mount Diablo, in the eastern hills of the Bay Area, is a beautiful hike to take with your mother. Its vast variety of trails provides a high summit meaning plenty of incredible views, best when the skies are clear. The Four Peaks loop trail is perfect for a trip with family due to the lots of activities provided like camping and tours. You and your family can visit the trails with parking at the end of the regency drive.
Sorich Park
Sorich Park, located at the end of San Francisco Blvd in San Anselmo, has many adventurous hiking trails available. We recommend Tomahawk Trail, the loop around Sorich Park. San Francisco, Novato, and more are visible from the trail, perfect for some Mother’s Day sightseeing.
Dipsea trail
Hiking the Dipsea trail is a fantastic way to spend Mother’s Day. This hike starts in Mill Valley and reaches seven miles of hills, forests, and incredible views across the coast of California, ending at Stinson Beach. Prepare for a lot of ups and downs, but the trail will give you great exercise, and amazing sights.
Kent Lake via Candalero Canyon Trail Loop
If your mom is in the mood to see some beautiful waterfalls, we recommend Kent Lake via Candalero Canyon Trail Loop. This hidden gem located deep into Fairfax, past Bon Tempe Lake, is a definite must-see. As you walk up the hills there is a massive waterfall visible for the majority of the hike. Additionally, if one doesn’t want to do the whole 6.5-mile loop, it is very easy to turn around at any point of the trail.
