Trader Joe’s is famous for stepping out of the box in all areas of culinary excellence, from delicious french cheese to green tea mochi. Recently, as one walks through the cheery isles in their local Trader Joe’s, they can’t help but notice some interesting new items; below are the top five best snacks of this newest batch.

1. Thai Banana Fritters

The number one spot goes to the Thai Banana Fritters. These banana fritters originated from Thailand and are fried immediately after being coated in a delicious sweet batter made from shredded coconut, coconut milk, rice flour, and sesame seeds. These delicious fritters are perfect after being thrown into the oven or air fryer and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall, these Thai Banana Fritters represent the epitome of Trader Joe’s product creativity, warranting a better-than-perfect six out of five feathers.

2. Tteok Bok Ki

Tteok Bok Ki is a flavorful rice cake dish with roots in nineteenth-century Korea. Traditionally, it would be dressed in soy sauce, but Trader Joe’s took the opportunity to take a modern twist on this dish.By dressing chewy rice cakes in a sweet and tangy gochujang barbeque sauce, the sauce has a taste similar to the sauce of Japanese barbeque ribs. Overall, this unique frozen-isle masterpiece receives a perfect five out of five feathers.

3. Sour Cream and Onion Flavored Rings

These Sour Cream and Onion Flavored Rings are Trader Joe’s new take on the classic flavor combination of sour cream and onion potato chips. These rings prove to be healthier than the classic potato chip, made up of red lentils and rice meals. All these factors led to a perfect blend between the sour cream taste and a crunchy interior. Therefore, these delicious onion rings receive four and a half out of five feathers.

4. Tres Leches Cake

Tres Leches Cake is a classic dessert that seems to be universally adored by all lovers of Latin-American desserts. Trader Joe’s version definitely fits the decadent expectation of a classic Tres Leches. The cake itself was light and airy and was paired perfectly with its condensed milk, heavy cream soak, and an airy whipped cream topping. In the end, this Latin-American cake wasn’t exactly authentic, but it still earned itself a four out of five feathers.

5. Black Tea and Boba Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert

For those whose stomach can’t take dairy ice cream, this Black Tea and Boba Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert hits the spot. The tapioca pearls swirl generously with brown sugar throughout this delectable summer treat that would make any boba tea lover swoon. Despite this, the ice cream itself is lacking the intense flavor of black tea that one would expect when reading its name. For these reasons, this ice cream was ranked lowest on the list, receiving a solid three and a half out of five feathers.

Trader Joe’s consistently has topped the mark with new snacks, treats, and meals. But these new items exceed all past releases, with various options that are bound to hit the spot for any customer.
