1. The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022)

Season three of the popular TV show The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to be released in the summer of 2025. The popular TV show, based off of author Jenny Han’s award-winning trilogy, follows 16-year-old Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and her exciting summers full of drama and love. Every summer, Belly travels with her mom Laurel (Jackie Chung) and brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) to Cousins Beach where they stay with Laurel’s longtime best friend Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) and her sons, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Christopher Briney).

Belly’s summers in seasons one and two are filled with conflicting decisions as she navigates her complicated feelings for both Conrad and Jeremiah. During season two, Susannah passes away from cancer, leaving the Fisher brothers with their dad. The sentimental beach house that Belly and the Fisher boys grew up in is being sold after Susannah’s passing, and throughout season two’s eight episodes the kids desperately try to save it. Following their adventures into season three according to The Economic Times, Belly transitions into her freshman year of college and the rollercoaster of emotions she’ll experience there.

A live action remake of the 2010 DreamWorks fantasy animation How to Train Your Dragon is coming to theaters June 13, 2025. The 2025 movie is starring Mason Thames as Hiccup and Nico Parker as Astrid. We assume the remake will follow the path of the original movie of a young viking’s challenges as he attempts to follow the traditional viking path and please his father Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler) and his village. Their main motive is to kill the invading dragons, of which their home, the Isle of Birk, is often raided and partially destroyed by several different classes and types. On one fateful day, Hiccup finally catches the most notorious dragon and he’s faced with a decision: kill it and make his father and village proud, or accept that is not who he is and let the dragon go free.

4. Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third movie in the Avatar franchise, will be released Dec. 19, 2025. In the sci-fi Avatar franchise, humans leave a decimated Earth and invade the planet Pandora, which alien beings called the Na’vi already inhabit.

Each previous film focuses on a different aspect of nature on the planet Pandora. The first movie focuses on main character Jake Sully (Sam Worthington)’s journey as one of the Na’vi tribes takes him in and teaches him how to live in the forest of Pandora. In the second installment of the series, Jake is forced to leave his home in the forest with his family and seeks shelter with a Na’vi tribe on the coast, unlearning everything he was taught previously and living in the water.

The third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is expected to be much different from the first two, with a different volcanic setting as well as a new array of villains. According to Screen Rant, this movie’s villains will be a new Na’vi tribe coming from volcanoes, differing from the Na’vi’s typical heroic roles.

28 Years Later is coming to theaters June 20, 2025. The third installment of the 28 Days Later franchise, starting with 28 Days Later (2002), then 28 Weeks Later (2007), 28 Years Later is said to continue the storyline and has even been speculated to have some of the same cast. In the trailer to 28 Years Later there’s a corpse or zombie that seems to resemble star of 28 days later, Jim (Cillian Murphy) appears on-screen., However, these rumors were quickly shut down when producer Andrew Macdonald denied the media’s claims to Empire , and that Murphy had not appeared in the trailer and will not appear in the new film.

28 Years Later is actually planned to be the start of a whole new trilogy, according to People Magazine, and the film’s producer Andrew Macdonald said that they are hoping for Murphy’s character, Jim, to guest star in the new trilogy even though he will not be in the first film, 28 Years Later. The movie, set on a secluded British island nearly three decades after a virus destroyed most of the United Kingdom, follows a group of survivors living on the island. One day, one survivor decides to venture off the island into the mainland, discovering that the virus has mutated after 28 years, now affecting both the infected and survivors.

The 2022 film showcases a new world where humans and dinosaurs live side by side, and follows main characters Allan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) as they work to reveal the truth behind the corporation Biosyn and its attempt on breeding dinosaurs for their own villainous purposes. 7. The Black Phone 2 (2025)

Horror movie The Black Phone 2 was originally supposed to be released June 27, 2025, but has now been rescheduled to Oct. 17, 2025. Though some fans are upset about the four month delay, there may be some good to come from it. According to Screen Rant, the movie’s later release date, which is closer to Halloween, will give the movie more publicity and popularity since Halloween is the perfect time for watching horror movies.

Just like the first movie, Screen Rant says that the story will follow main character Finney Blake (Mason Thames). In the previous movie, Finney was kidnapped by an infamous serial killer called “The Grabber.” While The Grabber holds him captive, Finney receives mysterious calls on a disconnected phone from The Grabber’s previous victims. The film also focuses on Finney’s sister and her oddly psychic dreams slowly revealing Finney’s whereabouts. The movie ends positively so it is unclear how The Grabber will come back for the second movie, but regardless of how he reappears, The Black Phone 2 is expected to be a thrilling film right in time for Halloween.
