In a letter released this morning, California’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond recommended that schools prepare distance learning for the rest of the year. Despite news coverage highlighting the certain nature of this closure, Thurmond stressed that this letter is not a directive. The final decision remains in the hands of school districts and health departments.
