Teen Receives Awards
Senior Noah Block received acknowledgement from the community as one of the Youth Volunteers of the Year for his work with the YMCA Marin County Youth Court on Jan. 12. Four other teens from local high schools were also honored.
The Marin County Human Rights Commission also acknowledged Block’s efforts by presenting him and two other teens the Youth Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award.
According to a press release by the Human Rights Commission Block “is a youth leader in Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol, serves on the Marin County Youth Commission, was a board member for the ACLU’s Marin Chapter, and is a member of Marin’s Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Commission.
